So, What’s a Gift Concierge?
I get this question a lot. And depending on who you ask, you might get a different answer. Here is my definition:
A Gift Concierge is a professional gift-er, expert wrapper, inspired ideator, present connoisseur, tasteful selector, resourceful curator, creative designer, milestone commemorator, thoughtful adviser, personal shopper, detail-oriented specialist.
Gift Concierge at Your Service.
It’s a lengthy definition because it’s hard to nail down one specific thing that a Gift Concierge “does.” A Gift Concierge wears many hats and boasts a wide variety of skills and competencies that aren’t necessarily teachable or easily acquired. I like to think of a Gift Concierge as someone who is “A jack of all trades, and a master of many.” Precision gift wrapping and expert bow-tying might come to mind first. But there are other skills beyond those obvious ones that are more nuanced yet extremely impactful. As a Gift Concierge, I am proud of my high standards of design and tastefulness, my ability to thoughtfully curate gift items with scrutiny, and how I pay meticulous attention to the details - both the needs of the gift-giver and the overall impact of a gift.
In short, a Gift Concierge is a professional that selects, curates and styles gifts on behalf of the individual giving the gift. I gather information about the particular gifting occasion and the gift recipient, assess the specific needs of the gift-giver, and coordinate all of the details to ensure a meaningful and thoughtful gift is bestowed. When I do my job well, both the gift-giver and the gift recipient feel well cared for.
Most people are familiar with the concept of a Hotel Concierge: They’re readily available in the hotel lobby, equipped to respond to a wide variety of inquiries and guests’ needs, and are exceptionally skilled in providing customer service, thoughtful recommendations, and making arrangements. When a Hotel Concierge does their job well, the hotel guest can focus on being fully present while enjoying their stay. Similarly, a Gift Concierge is readily available and fully equipped to handle a wide variety of gifting needs. My priority is to allow the gift-giver to focus on celebrating, encouraging, and supporting the important people in their lives throughout life’s ups and downs. My services allow you to do just that.
